So Ladies And Gents, Step Right Up! the first ten people who comment on this journal entry get SHOWCASED...even if, like in my case, you've got virtually no gallery to have showcased (I praise ~
hdragomir for the imagination he conjoured my showcase from

).
The rule is that once you get showcased you have to post a similar journal entry, and showcase another ten little deviants yourself

...Someone else strated it, but I like the idea of people talking about each other's galleries... so...ready-steady-GO!
(as you may have noticed, I do get carried off. you have been warned

)

hdragomir - a young freelance designer with a love and eye for nature - he skilfully incorporates vegetal elements in his graphic, not to mention the feeling of dinamism and balance his works inspire...although there is some really good graphic material of his that isn't featured in his new gallery

. But there's still his aweinspiring nature photography and atmospheric street scenes, photos which not only very well capture a certain mood, but at times also transmit a powerful message, as in Apuseni 2009
(
[link]). Slumset (
[link]) is a daunting show of shadow and sunset on the Bega river, and though seemingly unspectacular, I fell in love with Slummy ST (
[link]) for the same moody lighting. Enjoy.

cenumesimplu - she brings life to all she does, and most of all to her brilliant photos, I can really feel each one of them talikng to me. I can't stop marveling at how many aspects of the dayly life in Bucharest urban photography manages to vividly depict: from the nostalgia of the river bank, to the strong contrasts of post-communist society, from a splendidly caught sunset on the lake in Herastrau Park (Nothing Special
[link]) to the faces of the people in the crowd and by themselves(Bravery -
[link] , Fortza Steaua -
[link] , Lipscani -
[link])... I don't live in Bucharest, but her pictures really transport you to a place and a feeling, sort of bringing to you the heart of the town... though just as inspiring is her concept artwork(She's Gone II -
[link] ) and her spontaneous snapshots(my favorites: watching the world go by -
[link] , Do You Dare... -
[link] )

Lugarid - well, reviewing pieces of writing is considerably more difficult than photos...which do not seek to hide, if you know what I mean. So there's not much I can say about the works of this young non-fiction writer, with a penchant for ambiguity (did I say ambiguity? not just two faces, but also all that lies in between)... simply because what I see in his poems and editorials would only apply to me. His works are made to be carefully discovered on your own, a labyrinth shaped by smoke, a personal journey... Come to the heart of the underground tunnels.(Seekers of Fame and Fortune -
[link] , Nasterea unui dictator -
[link] Deliverence -
[link] , isn't this where... -

the text in the last one is accidentally put in the comment space).

jaxraven - this Demented Digital Domina is trully well versed in photomanip, as much as this statement fails to express the true magic of her pictures... magic is really the right word here, her fantasy-themed work being wonderfully dinamic and vivid, the spectacle of actual fantasy as seen through an ever moving curtain... and your job is not to believe, but to trully live the enchanted realm. Tripping on Firelight (
[link] ) is one of my faves through its feeling of dramatism, Mab's Daughter (
[link]) wonderfully illustartes her gift of storytelling, but her Tarot of Shadows(
[link] [link] [link]), a highly original work, is even more of a must. Meet Lady Jaxraven. Let her lead you into her world.

thepurplemonster All of us have probably doodled and doodled and then through some strange logic realised the curls and swirls were misteriously bonded to their thoughts. This incredible artist has had the courage to not just follow the lines further than we would ever attempt but also give them shape and meaning, while still preserving their spontaneity. Meet an artist of passion and magic. Meet the purple monster. Observe her inner arabesques, and tell me what you see. (

dedsyde one hot sketchbook in there. go read. it's really hard to put a label on this guy, his art involving an amalgam of graffitti(please let me know if I've written this correctly) comic book figures, cultural chiches and leitmotives, sidenotes, beer labels, puppies, aliens, Chinese receipts, photomanip, not to mention yellow sketchbook pages that have seen more of life than most of us ^^ works for me! have a look for yourselves (
